Abel Diaz

Abel C. Diaz of Uvalde passed away May 7, 2018 at the age of 82. He was born on August 3, 1935 in Del Rio to Jesus and Francisca Campos (Hinojosa) Diaz. He married Florencia Trevino in Uvalde on April 23, 1957.
He is survived by his daughters, Norma Diaz of Houston, Anna Maria Rincon of Hondo and Victoria Diaz Briones of La Pryor; sons, Albert Diaz of Houston, Abel Diaz, Jr. of Uvalde; and Arnoldo Diaz of San Antonio; sisters, Soledad Diaz of Wise, Patricia Diaz and Gabriela Diaz both of Houston; brothers, Ernesto Diaz of Guadalajara, Mexico, Jesus Diaz of Houston and Fidel Diaz of Wise; 16 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews, Rosa Islas of Hobbs, New Mexico, Nora Gutierrez of Uvalde, Sylvia Ceniceros of Florida, Delia Carranza of Dunley, Dora Delgado of Kansas, Andy Ballesteros of Wisconsin, Rudy Ceniceros of San Antonio and Raul Trevino of Wisconsin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; sisters, Flora Diaz and Eva Ballesteros and nephew, Sixto Ceniceros.
A rosary will be held on Wednesday and Thursday at 7:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, May 11, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Robert Rincon, Adrian Rincon, Brandon Rincon, Maggie Diaz, Ariana Diaz, and DyAllan Pamatian.
