Adam Chapa

Adam Chapa, Sr., 75, of Uvalde, passed away on April 1, 2024, at his residence.  

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. 

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 11, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Templo Christiano Church.  

He was born on January 16, 1949, in San Felipe, Texas to Maria Paula (Cardona) and Reynaldo Chapa. 

He married Irma Alvarado on June 30, 1973, in Crystal City, Texas. 

He is survived by his wife, Irma of 51 years of Uvalde; four daughters, Isabel Paula Zigmond and husband, Mark of Brackettville, Andrea Ray Sanchez and husband, Bernardo of Crystal City, Naomi Chapa and Rebecca Chapa both of Uvalde; son, Adam Chapa, Jr. and wife, Tanya of Eagle Pass; six sisters, Rebecca Gonzales of Uvalde, Noemi Mejia of Uvalde, Refugia “Cuca” Hernandez of Crystal City, Eva Ramos of Nevada, Rachel Juarez of San Antonio, and Olivia Chapa of Uvalde; two brothers, Daniel Chapa and Eugene Chapa both of Uvalde; 18 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.  

He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Reynaldo Chapa, Jr., Samuel Chapa, Daniel Chapa; and sister, Rebecca Gonzales. 

Pallbearers will be Mark Zigmond, Adam Chapa, Jr., Adam Chapa, III, Erik Dominguez, Bernardo Sanchez, Daniel Vasquez, Wyatt Givens, and Victor Xavier Lara, Jr. 

Cremation is under the direction of Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.
