Adelfa Hernandez of Uvalde passed away on January 9, 2009 at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center in Waco, Texas at the age of 70. She was born on September 2, 1938 in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico. She is survived by her daughters: Rosa Maria Borrego and husband Reginaldo of Plainview, Tx; Norma Aguilar and husband Ricardo of Waco, Tx.; Maria Guadalupe Grimaldo and husband Martin of Waco, Tx.; Claudia Capers and husband Chris of Austin, Tx.; sons: Jose Luis Hernandez and wife Maria Guadalupe of Denver City, Tx.; Raymundo Hernandez and wife Rita of Uvalde, Tx.; Roberto Hernandez and wife Angie of Uvalde, Tx.; Felipe Hernandez and wife Rosa of Uvalde, Tx.; Miguel Hernandez and wife Mari of Uvalde, Tx.; Jorge Hernandez and wife Idalia of Uvalde, Tx.; Andres Hernandez and wife Leonor of Waco, Tx.; Hector Hernandez and wife Maria of Waco, Tx.; Sisters; Bertha De La Cruz of Union Coahuila, Mexico; Antonia De La Cruz of Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico; brothers: Francisco Javier Garcia of Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico; Ismael De La Cruz of Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico; fifty grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Luis Hernandez and mother Maria Luisa Garcia. A prayer service will be held on Saturday and Sunday at 7:00 PM, Rushing-Estes-Knowles Chapel. Funeral services for Mrs. Hernandez will be Monday, January 12, 2009 at 3:30 PM at Templo Cristiano Church with burial to follow in Hillcrest Cemetery, Brother Edward De La Rosa will be officiating the service.
