Albert James Werth of New Braunfels, formerly of Knippa, passed away on January 28, 2008 at McKenna Memorial Hospital in New Braunfels at the age of 86. He was born in Knippa, TX on June 2, 1921 to Charles F. and Ella Rosalinda Kessler Werth. He married Carmen Lamae Alexander in Knippa on June 8, 1947. She preceded him in death. Mr. Werth served in the U.S. Navy in WWII. He worked at Knippa Trading Co. for over forty years as a butcher before retiring in 1986. He is survived by his daughter-in-law, Debbie Werth of New Braunfels; grandchildren, Jason Werth and wife, Amy of Ft. Worth; Brookie Lutz and husband, Kevin of Kerrville; Kelly Harris and husband, Justin of Austin; Cody Werth and wife, Stephanie of New Braunfels; Jory Werth of San Houston State University, Huntsville, TX; and Monica Dooley and husband, Michael of Colorado; and great-grandchildren, Michael Dooley III; Mason Dooley; Maddyn Dooley; Kourtney Lutz; and Austin Werth. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife; son, Ronney Werth; daughter, Gloria Jean Werth Coward; granddaughter, Christy Paige Werth; sister, Edna Kramer; and brother Edgar Werth. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 30, 2008, at 2:00 PM at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Knippa with burial to follow in the Knippa Cemetery. Pastor Daryl Knox will officiate. Pallbearers will be Jason Werth; Cody Werth; Jory Werth; Kevin Lutz; James Kramer; and Lee Schawe. Honorary pallbearers will be Leland Falkenberg and Bobby Kramer.
