Mr. Alfred Talavera Blackie Arizmendi of Uvalde passed away May 9, 2007 at his residence at the age of 73.
He was born April 21, 1934 in Knippa, Tx. to Dolores E. Antonia Arizmendi.
He is survived by his wife, Dora Arizmendi of Uvalde; daughters, Mimo Alejandro Tony Hernandez; Doolie Cardona Richard Garcia; Virginia Arizmendi Roy Samarripa; Diana Vale Ortega ; Michelle Jose Vasquez, all of Uvalde; sons, Michael Martinez Jesse Martinez, both of San Antonio; brother, Rene Arizmendi of Uvalde; sister, Guadalupe Mansanarez of Uvalde; grandchildren, Chris Alejandro Melissa of Humble; Amanda Gus Prado of San Antonio; Angie Ozzie Cardenas; Iris Arredondo; Alfred Cardona, Jr.; Orlando Ortega; Catherine Vasquez; Jose Vasquez, Jr., all of Uvalde Mattie Martinez of Mason; great-grandchildren, Mauricio Alejandro; Alyssa Prado; Annisa Prado; Derrick Cardenas; Diego Cardenas; Dillon Cardenas Lexy Padilla numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Gilberto Arizmendi; Dolores Arizmendi; Enrique Arizmendi; sisters, Graciela Thompson; Adela Silva Emma Gallegos.
A rosary will be held on Thursday Friday at 7:00 pm at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Chapel in Uvalde.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2007 at 11:00 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Cremation will be under the direction of Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.
