Alfredo "Fred" Suarez Jr went to be with the Lord unexpectedly on Sunday, August 16th, 2020 at the age of 77. He was born in Del Rio, Texas to Armandina Fuentes Suarez and Alfredo M. Suarez Sr. on July 25th, 1943.
Fred grew up in Cline, Texas with his parents, sisters and brothers until 1957 when the family moved to Uvalde, Texas. After graduating from Uvalde High School, Fred joined the military and served as an Army Specialist and was stationed in Frankfurt, Germany until 1967.
On April 27th, 1968 Fred married the love of his life Mary Ann Mansanarez in Uvalde.
Fred enjoyed hunting and fishing and weekly cards games with his brothers. He was a devoted father and grandfather who will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary Ann Suarez of Uvalde; sons Fred Suarez of Uvalde, TX, David Suarez of Knippa, TX, Mark Suarez (Darian) of Katy, TX, Robert Suarez (Viviana) of Katy, TX; two sisters, Romelia Silva (Sisto) and Diane Benavides (George) all of Uvalde; five brothers, Eusebio Suarez ( Irma), Jesse Suarez, Ruben Suarez (Diana), Armando Suarez (Irma) and Jose Suarez (Elvira) all of Uvalde; grandchildren: Samantha Suarez (Luis) of New Braunfels, Jordan Suarez of Katy, David Suarez of Katy, Damian Suarez of Katy, Stephanie Mata of Katy, Tiphanie Thumann (Brent) of San Antonio, LeAndrew Martinez of Katy and Briana Ford of Katy; and two great grandchilren: Luis “Cinco” Ulloa V of New Braunfels and Isabella Ulloa of New Braunfels; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Robert Suarez, Johnny Suarez and Nickanor Suarez and sister-in-law Rosana Suarez.
Visitation will be on Sunday, August 23, 2020 from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A rosary will be held on Sunday night at 6:00 pm at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, August 24, 2020 at 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church.
Pallbearers will be Fred Suarez, David Suarez, Mark Suarez, Robert Suarez, Damian Suarez, David Suarez, Jordan Suarez and Tiphanie Thumann.
Cremation under the direction of Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.
*100-person maximum can be accommodated at the funeral chapel at time of Visitation. Upon entering the funeral home, requirements are that social distancing of 6’ feet is practiced as well as a mask to be worn for every person in the building.
*150-person maximum can be accommodated at Sacred Heart Catholic in Uvalde. Upon entering the Church, requirements are that social distancing of 6’ feet is practiced as well as a mask to be worn for every person in the building.
