Alma Lara

Alma Lara of La Pryor passed away on July 9, 2015 at the Methodist Texsan Hospital in San Antonio at the age of 55. She was born on August 21, 1959 in Uvalde to Jose and Soveida (Perez) Gonzales. She married Francisco Lara on November 17, 1984 in La Pryor. She is survived by her husband of 30 years of La Pryor; daughters, Priscilla Garza and husband Isidro, Soveida Portillo and husband Michael all of La Pryor and Maricruz Martinez and husband Lorenzo of Uvalde; sons, Jesus Victorino and wife Lucy of Uvalde and Jose Lara and wife Tamecika of La Pryor; sister, Magdalena Martinez of La Pryor; brothers, George Gonzales of La Pryor and Armando Gonzales of Michigan; 11 grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Manuela Ortiz and Corina Vera; and brothers, Arnulfo Gonzales and Jose Elias Gonzales. A rosary will be held on Monday and Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Burial will follow at La Pryor Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jesus Victorino, Jose Lara, Isidro Garza, Michael Portillo, Lorenzo Martinez and Jesus Victorino, Jr.
