Alta Bacon

Alta Elise Bacon of Uvalde passed away on February 7, 2011 in Uvalde Memorial Hospital at the age of 89. She was born on January 23, 1922 in Honduras, Central America to John Franklin and Johnanna Bell Greenwood. She is survived by three daughters, Mary Ann Nelson and Shirley Merritt and husband, Donald all of Uvalde and Carole Clark and husband, Doug of San Antonio and a son, John Butch McClaugherty, Jr. and wife, Toby of Horse Shoe Bay, TX six grandchildren and six greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and a soninlaw, Jimmy Wayne Nelson. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 11, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the RushingEstesKnowles Chapel with burial to follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. Rev. Tony Gruben will officiate. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Jeff Medlin Mike Moog Dwayne McClaugherty Bryan McClaugherty and greatgrandsons, Anthony Matheson and Hunter Medlin. Memorial donations may be made to the Baptist Temple Church, 620 E. Main St., Uvalde, TX 78801.
