Alton Ilse

Alton Gene Ilse of Sabinal passed away on February 27, 2008 in Medina Community Hospital at the age of 79. He was born on September 29, 1928 in Sabinal, Texas to Arthur and Clara Ilse. He married Willa Dee Osman on January 7, 1954 in Sabinal, Texas. He was a Masonic Lodge Member; a Board Member for the Sabinal I.S.D. for 18 years; and a Uvalde County Commissioner for 8 years. He is survived by his wife of 54 years; one daughter; Linda Lee Koch and husband, David of Rio Rico, Arizona; three sons; Sam Ilse and wife, Jackie of Sarita, Texas; Arthur Tootie Ilse and wife, Lynn N. of Hondo, Texas; Dudley Ilse and wife, Kimberly of Uvalde, Texas; brother; John H. Ilse of Uvalde, Texas; nine grandchildren; Genee Stazzone and husband, Tony; John David Koch and wife, Jeannie; Royce Ilse; Richard Ilse; Sadie Ilse; Russell Ilse; Derrick Hale; Ashley Harris and husband, Eric; and Brandon Hale and wife, Ashley; six great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; Lee and George; three sisters; Josephine, Edna and Mildred. Visitation services will be held on Friday from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Chapel in Sabinal. Funeral services will be on Saturday, March 1, 2008 at 2:00 pm at First United Methodist Church in Sabinal with burial to follow in the Sabinal Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Richard Gene Ilse, Eric Harris, Derrick Alan Hale, Brandon Toft Hale, Royce Gene Ilse, Russell Jacob Ilse, John David Koch, and David Koch. Honorary pallbearers will be Anthony Stazzone, Mario Gonzales, Drew Ilse, Charlie Martinez, Eugene Verstuyft, Tommy Oliphant, Bob Krueger, Ott Clary, Arthur Earl Donaghe, James Kincaid, Greg Bales, John Driskill, and Hubert Felts.
