Amelia Alvarado

Amelia A. Alvarado of Knippa passed away on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 in San Antonio at the age of 68. Mrs. Alvarado was born on February 8, 1947 in Uvalde to Herebo and Eluteria (Ortiz) Almendarez. She married Arturo Alvarado on January 17, 1975 in San Antonio. Mrs. Alvarado is survived by her husband of 40 years, Arturo Alvarado of Knippa; four daughters, Lydia Perez and companion Frank of Uvalde, Irma Aguirre and husband Alfred of San Antonio, April Rendon of Uvalde and Virginia Garcia and husband Tony of Houston; six sons, Roberto Rendon, Albert and wife Lorrain, Juan Rendon and Reynaldo Rendon all of San Antonio, Arturo Alvarado Jr. and wife Jennifer and Jaime Alvarado and companion Azanette Cuellar of Uvalde; two brothers, Leandro Esparza and wife Pepa of Uvalde and Pedro Almendarez and wife Maria of Dixon; thirty-four grandchildren, thirty-seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson; numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Alvarado is preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Aurora Garza, Amparo Aviles, Alicia Cuellar and Juanita Lopez and one brother Edmundo Almendarez.
A rosary will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2015 and Sunday, November 22, 2015 at 7:00 pm at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, November 23, 2015 at 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church with burial to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
