Andrea R. Hernandez

Andrea R. Hernandez, 79, of Uvalde passed away on May 3, 2024, at Methodist Stone Oak Hospital in San Antonio.  

Visitation will begin on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at 11 a.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.  A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church.  Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.  

She was born on November 30, 1944, in Leon, Guanajuato, Mexico to Isabel (Sanchez) and Faustino Rivera.  

She married Francisco Hernandez on January 21, 1972, in Piedras Negras, Mexico.  

She is survived by two daughters, Maria Perez and husband, Jaime and Mercedes Salas and husband, Mauricio of Uvalde; son, Gaspar Hernandez of Brownsville; brother, Francisco Rivera of Piedras Negras, Mexico; grandchildren, Roy Sotelo, IV, Catalina Sotelo, Francisco Perez, and Jaime Perez; great granddaughter, Luna Marie Perez; and numerous nieces and nephews.   

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Francisco Hernandez; four brothers, Modesto Rivera, Aurelio Rivera, Luis Rivera, and Miguel Rivera; and sister, Francisca Rivera.  

Pallbearers will be Gaspar Hernandez, Mauricio Salas, Jaime Perez, Roy Sotelo, IV, Francisco Perez and Jaime Perez.
