Andrew Jackson Allen, 75, of La Pryor Texas, formerly of Uvalde Texas, passed away on May 25th, 2022. He was born January 12, 1947 in Bishop, Texas to Sam and Grace Allen.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Pamela Allen; five children, Donna (Rick) Nisse, Andrew H. (Terrie) Allen, Ruth (Jeannie) (Todd) Allen, Malcom (Katherine) Allen, and Ira (Sarah) Allen; Nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; Sister Ruth Wilkins, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Andrew is preceded in death by his son Matthew L. Allen.
Andrew Allen (Andy) enjoyed life outdoors and was a renowned trapper, working from Texas to Wyoming, his experience and knowledge in predator control benefitted many farmers and ranchers, enabling them to maintain their livelihood, a profession he was passionate about. Andy was a skilled horseman and talented craftsman, his patience and attention to detail exemplified in the love he had as a husband and a father to the family he raised with the love of his life, Pamela (Pam). Andy appreciated nature, rural living, good mules and smart dogs. He was honest and sincere, enjoyed fishing, time with family, working with his hands and anything that made Pam smile.
His stories will be retold and the knowledge he shared will continue to be passed on by his family and loved ones. Andrew Jackson Allen lived a life that many dream of but few experience, the life of a great man. Andy will be greatly missed by many and remembered by many more.
A graveside service will be held on May 31st, 2022 at Hillcrest Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers Rusty Brown, Clinto Brown, Charlie Baird, Eddie Wimberley, JE Sathoff, and James Biediger assisted family in laying Andy to rest.
