Anna Lamar Molloy of Uvalde died on April 28, 2022 at Veranda Senior Living at the age of 87.
She was born on February 3, 1935 in Uvalde to Marguerite (McMains) and Louis J. Franklin, Sr. She graduated from Uvalde High School in 1952 and received a bachelor’s degree from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio in 1968 and two master’s degrees from St. Mary’s University in 1971 and 1972.
She married Jack Molloy on May 16, 1981 in Houston. Ann taught English, Math, and Special Education in public schools for over 30 years. She was a member of the Red Hatter’s Society and the Uvalde Chamber of Commerce Chili Peppers. She loved hosting parties in their home for birthdays, holidays, retirement, and class reunions. She taught water aerobics classes at the Herby Ham Activity Center for 25 years. She enjoyed crafting and spent many hours working on projects that she would give to family and friends. She and her husband were members of the Honey Bee Square Dancers and they traveled all over Texas to be with people who enjoyed dancing as much as they did. She loved traveling across the United States either on the back of her husband’s motorcycle, or in their Airstream. They spent many vacations in New Zealand, Africa, Germany, Switzerland, France, and Hawaii.
She is survived by her husband, Jack Molloy of Uvalde; two sons, Michael Crawford and wife, Laura of Waco and Patrick Crawford of Uvalde; daughter, Linda Hall and husband, Jim of Crosby; four grandchildren, Christopher Crawford and wife, Mel; Kimberly Crawford; Jamie Coquel Lee and husband, Mark; and Patricia Fonseca; and four great-grandchildren; Pierce Crawford; Jordan Coquel; Josie Lee; and Nicolas Fonseca.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Louis J. Franklin, Jr.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at 2:00 pm at First United Methodist Church. Rev. Steve Peyton will officiate. Cremation will follow.
