Anna Fernandez

Anna V. Fernandez of Uvalde passed away on May 27, 2009 in her residence at the age of 61. She was born on March 2, 1948 in Uvalde, Texas to Juan and Maria Vara. She married Carlos A. Fernandez in Uvalde, Texas on April 7, 1970. She is survived by her husband of 39 years; Carlos A. Fernandez of Uvalde, Texas; two sons; Carlos Fernandez and wife, Maria; and Michael Eric Fernandez and wife, Crystal all of Uvalde, Texas; three sisters; Esperanza Rodriguez of San Angelo, Texas; Henriqueta Luera of Ballinger, Texas; and Carmen Vara of Amarillo, Texas; three grandchildren; Matthew Charles Fernandez, Faye Madison Fernandez, and Michael Fernandez Jr.. She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother; Ernesto Juan Vara. A rosary will be held on Thursday and Friday at 7:00 PM at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2009 at 9:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial to follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gilbert Ayala, Gene Ayala, Gilbert Talavera, Juan Munoz, Albert Fernandez Jr., and Fernando Amaya.
