Anselmo Escobar Jr.

Anselmo AJ Escobar Jr. of Utopia passed away on April 20, 2013 in Anson, Texas at the age of 27. He was born on November 7, 1985 in Rio Grande City to Anselmo Escobar and Mary Elizabeth Avirde. He is survived by his mother Mary Elizabeth Avirde Gazaway and husband Fred of Utopia father, Anselmo Escobar of McAllen maternal grandmother, Graciela V. Avirde of Rio Grande City paternal grandmother, Victoria De Los Santos Escobar of Escobares sisters, Caroline Avirde Jacob and husband Brenton of San Antonio Diane Carly Gazaway of Utopia and Tina Rae Gazaway Wann of Abilene brother, Billy Gazaway and wife Allison of Abilene nieces and nephews, TY Gazaway, Jeremy Jacob, Ethan Wann, Blake Wann and Lacy Gazaway. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Manuel C. Avirde and Jose De Los Santos Escobar. A rosary will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at the RushingEstesKnowles Chapel in Sabinal. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at St. Marys Catholic Church in Vanderpool. Burial will follow at Jones Cemetery in Utopia. Pallbearers will be Freddie Joe Gazaway, Brenton Jacob, Colin Gunn, Nicolas Ususan, Joe Montez, and Anselmo Escobar.
