Antonio Arredondo Sr.

Antonio S. Arredondo Sr. of Uvalde passed away on April 1, 2021 at his residence at the age of 85.  He was born on June 12, 1935 in Uvalde, Texas to Francisco Arredondo and Victoria Serrato.

He married Odelia Silva in Uvalde on March 29, 1955.

He is survived his wife of 66 years of Uvalde; daughters, Armandina A. Mendoza and husband, Johnny of Uvalde, Texas, Annabelia A. Cardenas and husband, Roberto of Rockford, Illinois, Annette Hart of Uvalde, Texas and Amy Flores and companion, Isidro Lopez of Longview, Texas; sons, Abelardo Arredondo and wife, Michelle of Carol Stream, Illinois, and Alverto S. Arredondo of Uvalde, Texas; sisters, Consuelo Cazares of Oaklawn, Illinois, and Elida Torres of Uvalde, Texas; sister in laws, Connie Salazar and Andrea Arredondo both of Uvalde; 25 grandchildren; 64 great grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Antonio Arredondo, Jr.; son in law, Jimmy L. Hart; 4 brothers, Juan Arredondo, Arnulfo Arredondo, Julian Arredondo, and Rodolfo Arredondo; 3 sisters, Genoveva Lopez, Lilly Olivarez and Teresa Ruiz.

Pallbearers will be Teodoro Mendoza, Christopher Martinez, Serjio Martinez, Joseph Mendoza, Michael Flores, Ricardo Martinez, Jose Luna and Julio Luna

Honorary pallbearers will be Abelardo Arredondo, Alverto Arredondo Johnny Mendozo, Roberto Cardenas and Isidro Lopez.

Visitation will begin on Monday, April 12, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. followed by a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.  A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.  Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
