Antonio “Tony” Briseño of Uvalde passed away on Thursday, September 16, 2021, at University Hospital in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 56. He was born on February 2, 1965, in Uvalde to Carlos De La Cruz Briseño and Juanita Ramos.
He married Annette Hernandez on September 11, 1982, in Uvalde.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years of Uvalde; daughters, Antoinette Briseño and Anjanique Hernandez and husband, Max all of Uvalde; son, Andrain Santos Briseño and wife, Katie of Uvalde; sister, Dora B. Fuentes of Austin; brothers, Carlos Briseño, Jr., Richard Briseño and wife, Melba all of Uvalde; and Rolando Briseño and wife, Kelly of Hutto; 12 grandchildren, Anthony Padilla, Arlin Padilla, Aden Padilla, Alaysius Padilla, Anaise Padilla, Addison Perez, Aubrey Medina, Andrain Jace Briseño, Amira Joyce Briseño, Alora Jayne Briseño, Amado Joel Hernandez, and Ximena Hernandez; 1 great granddaughter, Ava Padilla; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; son, AJ Briseño and father-in-law, Juan M. Hernandez.
Visitation will begin on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. followed by a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, September 23, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Mike Hernandez, Eddie Lopez, David Gomez, Sonny Garcia, Gilbert Vasquez, Edward Garza, Chris Sanchez and Ricardo Gonzales.
Honorary pallbearers will be Juan M. Hernandez, Jr., Juan Gonzales, Carlos Briseño, Richard Briseño, Roland Briseño, Fermin Castillo and Johnny Limones.
