Apolinar Lopez Salazar of La Pryor passed away on October 8, 2017 at Sorrento Nursing Home in San Antonio at the age of 80. He was born on July 23, 1937 in Taft, Texas to Alberto Garza and San Juana (Lopez) Salazar. He married Margarita Quijano in La Pryor on April 9, 1965.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years of La Pryor; daughters, Peggy Ann Salazar and Benita De La Garza both of Uvalde, Roxann Salazar and Dora Salazar both of San Antonio; sons, Martin Q. Salazar, Mark A. Salazar, and John A. Salazar all of San Antonio, Albert Salazar of Uvalde and Benjamin L. Salazar of Florida; sisters, Ramona Gonzalez of San Antonio, Vicenta Vega of Florida, Rojelia Salazar of La Pryor and Berta Perez of Victoria; 28 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Balicia Ramirez, Benita Tellez, and Francisca Salazar; and brother, Jacinto Salazar.
A prayer service will be held on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at La Pryor Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Martin Q. Salazar, Mark A. Salazar, Albert Salazar, John A. Salazar, Benjamin L. Salazar, Albert De La Garza, Marco Hoyuela and Brian L. Mendoza.
