Armando A. Cardona, Jr. of Uvalde passed away on August 7, 2022, at his residence at the age of 74.
He was born on December 30, 1947, in Uvalde to Armando Meza Cardona and Manuela (Alvarez).
He married Lucy Polanco in Uvalde on June 4, 1977.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years of Uvalde; daughter, Marisela Cardona of Blanco; sons, Eric Cardona and wife, Rose Ann of Kingsville and Armando Cardona, III and wife, Tanya of Blanco; sister, Cleo Hernandez and husband, Zeke of Uvalde; brother, Rogelio Cardona and wife, Linda of Uvalde; 5 grandchildren, Eric “Andy” Cardona, Aaron Cardona, Emily Cardona, Aidan Cardona and Dustin Culak; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Olga Zamora; and brother, Amaro A. Cardona.
Visitation will begin on Thursday at 12:00 p.m., followed by a rosary at 7:00 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, August 12, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Alfredo Cardona, Armando Villescaz, Tony Rodriguez, Fidencio Rivera, Lee Esparza, Jason Vargas, Gilbert Zamora Jr., Jaime Zamora, Javier Zamora, Roy Cardona, Adrian Cardona, Daniel Villescaz Jr., Mario Cardona, Chris Rodriguez, and Philemon "Phil" Esquivel.
