Armando Garza

Armando Charo Garza of Batesville, passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at his residence at the age of 78.

Armando was born on June 24, 1944 in Batesville to Geronimo and Teofila (Charo) Garza.

He married Ester Vasquez on December 2, 2004 in Crystal City.

Armando is survived by two daughters, Sylvia Garza of Batesville and Delma Phillips of La Pryor; three sons, Daniel Garza and wife Petra, Armando Garza Jr and wife Maria and Alejandro “Alex” Garza and wife Eloisa Guana all of Batesville; sister, Julia Vela of Batesville; 16 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his wife, parents, four sisters, Modesta Chavera, Lucia Garza, Trinidad Luna and Tomasa Hernandez, two brothers, Antonio Garza and Mario Garza.

Visitation for Armando will begin on Thursday, July 28, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A rosary will be held at 6:00 pm on Thursday, July 28, 2022 at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 29, 2022 at 1:00 pm at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Batesville. Interment to follow at Batesville Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Alex Garza Jr., Cody Phillips, Daniel Garza Jr., Armando Garza III, Paul James Canales IV and Joel David Garza.
