Arturo Alvarado

Arturo Alvarado, 77, of Uvalde passed away on September 2, 2023, at St. Luke Hospital in San Antonio.

He was born on November 6, 1945, in Uvalde to Mary Esther (Ybarra) and Marcelino Alvarado.

He married Amelia Almendarez on January 17, 1975 in Uvalde.

He is survived by daughters, Lydia Perez (Frank) of Uvalde, Irma Aguirre (Alfred) of San Antonio, Mary Esther Arazqui (Yousseff) of Hurst Virginia Garcia (Tony) of Houston and April Rendon (Michael Trevino) of Uvalde; six sons, Albert Rendon (Lorrain) of San Antonio, Juan Rendon of San Antonio, Arturo Alvarado Jr of Uvalde, Jaime Alvarado (Cristina Arredondo) of Uvalde, Archie Alvarado of Colorado and Elias Alvarado of Colorado; four sisters, Pura Alvarado of Eagle Pass, Gloria Torres of Atlanta, Georgia, Josefina Fuentez of Uvalde and Janie Alvarado of Uvalde; two brothers, Tanis Alvarado of Natalia and Danny Alvarado of Greely, Colorado; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife Amelia Alvarado, two sons, Reynaldo Alvarado and Roberto Alvarado, two brothers, Ernesto Alvarado and Marcelino Alvarado Jr.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. followed by a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.  A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, September 14, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
