Arturo Gonzales, Sr.

Arturo Ruiz Gonzales, 86 of Uvalde, went to be with the Lord on Sat. Nov. 14, 2015 after a brief battle with cancer. The 5th of 6 children he was born Oct. 17, 1929 in Montel, TX. to Catalina Ruiz and Vicente Gonzales Sr. He is preceded in death by his parents, five siblings and a grandson, Matthew Seneca Luevano. Arturo was a long time self-employed individual who worked in the Sheep Shearing business and in the Trucking business. He loved watching Westerns on TV and he enjoyed driving throughout the state hauling whatever vegetation was in season. He was always quick with a smile and loved his family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Yolanda Rodriguez Gonzales and children - Arturo (Edna) Gonzales Jr. of Universal City, TX., Ruben Gonzales of Uvalde; Odilia (Alfredo) Luevano of Boerne; and Rachel (George) Flores of Houston; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, November 20, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church.
Cremation under the direction of Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.
