Arturo De La Rosa Salinas of Uvalde passed away on March 5, 2018 at Uvalde Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Uvalde at the age of 88. He was born on December 13, 1929 in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico to Arturo Salinas and Antonia De La Rosa. He married Josefina Ortiz in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico on October 4, 1961.
He is survived by his daughters, Josefina Castillo and husband, Pablo of Uvalde and San Juanita Galarza of Harvard, Illinois; sons, Arturo O. Salinas, Jr. and wife, Sandra of Bayview, Miguel Salinas and wife, Cindy of Uvalde and Salvador Salinas and wife, Noelia of Dunlay; sisters, Maria De Jesus Garza of Harvard, Illinois, Maria Esther Castellon and husband, Evaristo of Uvalde, and Rosa Maria De Guajardo of San Buena Aventura, Coahuila, Mexico; brother, Margarito De La Rosa of Piedras Negras; 9 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; granddaughter, Michelle Salinas; newborn great grandson; sister, Manuela De Gomez and brother, Miguel Salinas.
A rosary will be held on Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. and Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, March 8, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Pallbearers will be Arturo O. Salinas, Miguel Salinas, Salvador Salinas, Paul Castillo, Librado Padilla, and Alejandro Castellon.
Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Salinas, Paul Michael Castillo, Arturo Salinas, III. and Felipe Galarza, III.
