Aurora Barrios

Aurora Arredondo Barrios of Uvalde passed away on March 29, 2016 at the Methodist Hospital in San Antonio at the age of 87. She was born on April 28, 1928 in La Pryor, Texas to Dolores Morales Arredondo. She married Alejandro G. Barrios in Kerrville on August 1, 1959 She is survived by daughters, Veronica Hinojosa and husband Ernesto, Mary Alice Gonzales all of Uvalde, and Otila Alvarado of Big Wells; stepsons, Arnoldo Barrios and wife Gloria of La Pryor and Alberto Barrios and wife Janie of Uvalde; grandchildren, Marco Lauro Hinojosa, Rachel Reed, Celia Langstaff, Gumesindo Gonzales, Jr. , Jennifer Zamora, Marie Vasquez, Christina Castro, Ricardo Vasquez III, Joel Vasquez, Noami Vasquez, Amelia Vasquez, Eva Jimenez, Pilar Vasquez, Analicia Barrios, Diana Barrios, Arnoldo Barrios, Jr., Robert Barrios, Marcos Barrios, Manuel Alaniz, Alex Garza, Jr., Johnny Alvarado and Nicholas Alvarado; numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband and stepdaughter, Janie Vasquez.
A rosary will be held on Wednesday and Thursday at 6:00 p.m. at Rushing Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, April 1, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Pete Zamora, Ricardo Alejandro Vasquez, Joel Vasquez, Mark Barrios, Frankie Estrada and Erik Estrada.
