Aurora Cancino Hernandez, 90, of Uvalde passed away on September 3, 2023, at Uvalde Memorial Hospital.
She was born on July 12, 1933, in Morelos, Mexico to Maria Julia (Hernandez) and Lino Cancino.
She married Ignacio Cordova Hernandez in Sabinas, Mexico.
She is survived by five daughters, Elsa Hernandez of Uvalde, Maria Julia Hernandez of Austin, Maria Hernandez of Dallas, Luz Maria Hernandez of Minnesota and Maria Guadalupe Medina of Piedras Negras, Mexico; three sons, Santiago Hernandez and wife, Sandra of Florida, Efren Hernandez of Minnesota and Silverio Hernandez of Minnesota; 24 grandchildren, great grandchildren, Victory Briseis Rodriguez, Esme Weshahi and three other great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; one baby sister and three brothers, Maximino Cancino, Manuel Cancino and Agustin Cancino.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 14, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. followed by a rosary at 7 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, September 15, 2023, at 2 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Edgar A. Lopez, Fadi Weshahi, Eleazar Weshahi, Santiago Hernandez, Fortunato Lopez, Jr. and Tony Rodriguez.
