Barbara Dell Hickman Turner of Uvalde went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 5, 2011. She was born on November 15, 1931 to Charles and Veta Bell Hickman. Barbara was a devoted wife, loving mother, sister, grandmother, greatgrandmother, aunt and trusting friend to all she met. One could have never met a more selfless individual. There is no doubt that heaven is rejoicing Barbaras arrival. She was caring, compassionate, and a beautiful person inside and out. She taught Sunday school, worked as a department manager for H.E.B., and a secretary for U.C.I.S.D. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, needlepoint, and helping her husband run their family business raising and selling goats. Barbara is preceded in death by her parents husband, Dink Turner and sister, Joan Terry. She is survived by two daughters, Dana Sheedy and husband, Nolan of Uvalde and Mitzi Whorton and husband, Mike of Spring Branch, TX five sons, Steve Turner and wife, Molly of Uvalde Kim Turner and wife, Bonnie of Uvalde Nick Turner and wife, Becky of Houston Rocky Turner and wife, Cindy of Hondo and Sheae Turner of Medina, TX brother, Dwayne Hickman of Austin numerous grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the Church of Christ in Uvalde. Mr. King Burney will officiate.Burial will be in the Resthaven Cemetery, Brady, TX at 2:00 PM on Sunday, July 10, 2011. Pallbearers will be Steve Turner Kim Turner Nick Turner Rocky Turner Sheae Turner Mike Whorton Nolan Sheedy Robby Terry and Randy Terry. Memorial donations may be made to the Medina Childrens Home, 21300 State Highway 16N, Medina, TX 78005 or the Alzheimers Association, PO Box 96011, Washington, D.C. 20090.
