Basil Baron Fletcher of Uvalde passed away on January 14, 2011 in Del Rio, TX at the age of 65. He was born on September 16, 1945 in Jennings, LA to Shirmer and Margueriette Jacobs Fletcher. He married Denise Mourning on September 18, 1987 in Cuero, TX. He is survived by his wife of 23 years three sons, Byron Fletcher of Uvalde Walker Fletcher and wife, Kelly of Sinton, TX and Jason Fletcher of Port Aransas two sisters, Shirley Davis of Jacksonville, TX and Barbara Brocious and husband, Skip of Florida brother, Dick Fletcher and wife, Lynn of Victoria granddaughter, Faith Fletcher and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Garland Fletcher. Basil worked worldwide as a respected drilling fluids engineer. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing golf, and all outdoor activities. He shot competition and was a gunsmith. He loved his family. Family visitation will be held from 68 pm on Tuesday at the RushingEstesKnowles Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church in Uvalde with burial to follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. Rev. Jerry Scott will officiate. Pallbearers will be Rick Mourning Carl Manor Raymond Galindo Jason Goucher Chris Goucher and Aaron Fletcher.
