Beatriz Perez

Beatriz G. Perez of La Pryor passed away on August 17, 2022, at her residence at the age of 91.

She was born on July 29, 1931, in Valley Wells, Texas to Margarita (Vela) and Cresencio Gaitan.

She is survived by her daughters, Maria A. Garcia and husband, Porfirio “Pilo” of La Pryor, Margarita P. Esquivel of Lind, Washington, Martha P. Medina, Paulita P. Salazar, and husband, Albert, and Maricela Perez, all of La Pryor; sons, Javier Perez and wife, Gloria, Onesimo Perez, Jr. and wife, Leticia all of La Pryor and Cresencio Perez and wife, Frances of Marion, Texas; brothers, Vicente Gaitan of Uvalde and Plutarco Gaytan of Edinburg; 19 grandchildren; 34 greatgrandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Onesimo G. Perez; grandson, Josue Abraham Garcia; two sons in law, Alejandro Medina, Jr. and Hector M. Esquivel.

Visitation will begin on Friday, August 19, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. followed by a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.  A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in La Pryor.  Interment will follow at La Pryor Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Javier Perez, Jr., Adrian Garcia, John Paul Garcia, Zaragosa Perez, Abraham Salazar, Daniel Perez, Michael Perez, Alex Medina, III and Israel Medina.

Honorary pallbearers will be Hector Esquivel, Jr., Arturo Esquivel, Johnny Esquivel, and AJ Salazar.
