Belia Gonzales

Belia P. Gonzales peacefully went to rest with her Lord on November 17, 2013, while surrounded by her children. She will be remembered as a wonderful cook, a great seamstress, and a very strong woman, full of wisdom and love for the Lord. She leaves behind many words of wisdom and many fond memories.
She was born in San Angelo, Texas on November 6, 1929 to Ignacio and Eva Pena. She married Pedro G. Gonzales on April 7, 1956. When her husband was killed in an automobile accident on October 27, 1974, she dedicated her life to raising her four children.
Belia is preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Antonio Lopez, and sister Enedina Vaquera. She is survived by her children, Marcella Gonzales, Sandra and husband Steve Hopper, Pete and wife Maribel Gonzales all of Uvalde Rene and wife Lillie Gonzales from San Antonio, Texas eleven grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
A short memorial with visitation following will be held on Friday, November 22nd at 7:00 p.m. at RushingEstesKnowles Mortuary. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 23rd at 10:00 a. m. at RushingEstesKnowles Mortuary. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Uvalde Hospice or El Progresso Library.
Pallbearers will are Garett Hopper, Dylan Hopper, David Gonzales, Joe Gutierrez, Joe Castillo and Herman Pesina.
