Belia Rios Mata of Uvalde passed away on April 27, 2015 at her residence at the age of 78. She was born on October 2, 1936 in Rowena, Texas to Antonio and Francisca (Baltasar) Rios. She married Juan V. Mata in Belton, Texas on August 16, 1956. She is survived by her daughters, Cynthia Gonzales and husband Robert Jr., Sandra Olivarez all of Uvalde and Sonia Torres and husband Jesus of Clinton, Oklahoma; sons, Juan Mata and wife Olivia, Eddie Mata and Roberto Mata all of Uvalde; 16 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Rogelio Mata; 2 brothers; 2 sisters; and granddaughter, Amanda Mata. A rosary will be held on Wednesday and Thursday at 7:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, May 1, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Giovanni Edwardo Mata, Daniel Julian Mata, Raul A. Olivarez Jr., Zachary N. Echeverria, Justin Adam Perez, Robert Gonzales III and Orlando Casteneda Jr.
