Bentura “Ben” Vasquez, Jr. of Spofford passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 in San Antonio at the age of 79.
Ben was born on August 31, 1940 in Uvalde to Bentura and Josephine (Mancha) Vasquez.
He married Julia Villasana on September 7, 1956 in Uvalde.
Ben is survived by his wife of 63 years; three daughters, Sadie Villarreal of San Antonio,
Cynthia Castro and husband John of Brackettville and Katherine Vasquez and companion Edward Salas of Uvalde; four sons, Joe Vasquez and wife Patricia of Carrizo Springs, Ben Vasquez and companion Olga Sanchez of Brackettville, Ron Vasquez and wife Lydia of Alva, Oklahoma and Bobby Vasquez and wife Anita of Corpus Christi; two sisters, Ella Mae De Hoyos of San Antonio and Lavinia Heinshon of Arlington; 19 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He is preceded by daughter Patsy Ann Vasquez, parents, two sisters, Elva Gonzales and Olga Brooks, brother Gilbert Vasquez.
Visitation for Mr. Vasquez will be start at 8:30 am Friday, July 17, 2020 at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A rosary will be held on Friday, July 17, 2020 at 5:00 pm at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.
Cremation under the direction of Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.
*100-person maximum can be accommodated at the funeral chapel at a time for Visitation. Upon entering the funeral home, requirements are that social distancing of 6’ feet is practiced as well as a mask to be worn for every person in the building.
