Bernice Hudnall Cox of Uvalde passed away on December 15, 2007 in Uvalde Memorial Hospital at the age of 93. She was born on October 28, 1914 in Butler County, Kentucky to Ephraim and Peruvia Hudnall. She married James Cox on October 22, 1931 in Old Hickory, Tennessee. She is survived by her husband of 76 years; daughters, Faye Leavitt of San Antonio; Kay Kennedy and husband, Jerry of Helotes; and Gaye Edwards and husband, David of Austin; son, James Cox, Jr. and wife, Frankie of Uvalde; sister, Esma Horton of St. Louis, MO; 8 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers and sisters; and a grandson, Jack Leavitt. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 17, 2007, at 2:00 PM at the Rushing-Estes-Knowles Chapel with burial to follow in Uvalde Cemetery. Mr. Ted McElroy will officiate.
