Bertha Costilla

Bertha B. Costilla of Uvalde passed away on January 29, 2018 at Methodist Hospital in San Antonio at the age of 77. She was born on June 25, 1940 in Uvalde to Isabel and Refugia (De La Cruz) Briseno. She married Ismael Costilla in Houston on February 12, 1961.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years of Uvalde; daughters, Emma Rodriguez and husband, Art of Kerrville, Norma Garcia and husband, Martin of Justin, and Sandra Ortega and husband, Carlos of San Antonio; sisters, Oralia Gutierrez of Bakersfield, California and Ernestina Garcia of Uvalde; 7 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Lidia Briseno, Belia Briseno, Enriqueta Briseno; brothers, Isabel Briseno, Jr., Carlos Briseno and Jose Briseno.
A rosary will be held on Friday, February 2, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.
Cremation is under the direction of Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.
