Bertha Elizondo

Bertha P. Elizondo of Sabinal passed away on February 1, 2018 at Uvalde Memorial Hospital at the age of 85. She was born on September 22, 1932 in Guerrero, Coahuila, Mexico to Rosendo Pena and Consuelo Castillon. She married Hugo L. Elizondo on November 4, 1950 in Guerrero, Coahuila, Mexico.
She is survived by her husband of Sabinal; daughters, Nelva Rodriguez and husband, Ricardo of Temple, Norma Berrones of Uvalde, Lesbia Northern and husband, Martin of Wolfforth, Lidia Rodriguez and husband, Rodolfo of Dilley, and Sulema Cabrera and husband, Romeo of San Antonio; sons, Hugo Elizondo, Jr. and wife, Delia of Blanco, Ricardo Elizondo and wife, Patricia of Buda; sister, Maria Del Carmen Ponce of Eagle Pass; brother, Rodolfo Estrada of San Antonio; 20 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Jose Luis Elizondo; and brother, Jose Rios.
A rosary will be held on Saturday and Sunday at 7:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, February 5, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jose Ricardo Rodriguez, Carl Northern, Rodolfo Hugo Rodriguez, Chris Elizondo, Richard Lee Elizondo, and John Romeo Cabrera.
