Bettie Brown

Bettie Belle Brown, 98, of Batesville, Texas passed away on December 7, 2020 at Uvalde Healthcare and Rehabilitation. Bettie Belle was born March 31, 1922 in Coleman, Texas. She married William Bernard Brown on December 21, 1942 in Hamilton, Texas. Bernard passed away June 21, 1996 after more than 50 years of marriage.

Bettie Belle was a teacher for remedial reading at Batesville School. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Uvalde. Bettie Belle also enjoyed traveling, especially to Ruidoso, Colorado, and Yellowstone National Park. Bettie Belle was survived by her son Andrew Brown and wife Jan Brown of Batesville; daughter Bernardette Brown of San Antonio; daughter Toneilia Stewart and husband Paul Stewart of Iowa; seven grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter Mary Susan Brown, who died in 1960.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to one's favorite charity.

A graveside service was held on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Hillcrest Cemetery.
