Bryan Alan Grelle, age 75, of La Pryor died peacefully at home on November 16, 2022.
Visitation will be Sunday, November 27th, at the Rushing Estes Knowles Funeral Home in Uvalde, from 2pm to 9pm.
Graveside funeral services for close family and friends will be held Monday, November 28th at the La Pryor cemetery.
Bryan was born on December 10, 1946 to Georgia Taylor and Omer Grelle. He attended High School in Sonora, TX and was active in sports.
After graduation, he served in the U.S. Army, including a tour in Vietnam. While stationed at Ft Riley, Kansas he met and married Kathy Lynn Watts.
After leaving the Army, he returned Texas where he worked as a police officer, aircraft painter, and other jobs before returning to be a rancher on his family ranch in La Pryor.
An avid outdoorsman, he loved to hunt and fish. Also a great lover of animals, he was known to rescue stray animals- a trait he passed to his children and grandchildren.
Bryan is survived by his sisters, Kathy Shurley and husband Mark of Kerrville and Carol Andrews and husband Randy of Corpus Christi; daughters Teri Bilby and husband Stephen of San Antonio and Lesli Grelle of La Pryor; sons Todd Grelle of La Pryor and Mick Grelle and wife Adriana of Edinburg; 9 grandchildren, Kirsten Lee, Alexandra Grelle, Erynn Grelle, Trey Grelle, Xaden Grelle, Austin Grelle, Addyson Bilby, Ryder Bilby and Haven Grelle; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and pets.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Omer and Georgia Grelle, sister Sandra Grelle, brother Mike Grelle, his dog Lacey, and his beloved wife of 50 years Kathy Grelle.
