Calvin Vernor

Calvin Wayne Vernor of Camp Wood passed away on Wednesday January 25, 2012 at Christus Santa Rosa Medical Center in San Antonio at the age of 81. He was born on October 18, 1930 to Russell and Winnie Webb Vernor in Camp Wood, Texas. He married Janet Spurgers on May 15, 1965 in Camp Wood. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, daughters, Patricia Mayes and husband Jeffery of League City, Texas Melanie Vernor of Kyle, Texas sons, Danny Vernor and wife Kim of Ennis, Texas Michael Vernor and wife Stephaine of Elk City, Oklahoma sister, Treva Roy of New Baltimore, Michigan brother, Kelso Vernor of Clute, Texas grandchildren, Dane Vernor, Heath Vernor, Grant Vernor, Kaleb Fry, Vivian Mayes and Jamie Mayes. He was preceded in death by his parents and brotherinlaw Claude Roy. Funeral services will be held on Saturday January 28, 2012 at 1: 00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Camp Wood. Burial will follow at Camp Wood Cemetery. Pallbearers will Randy Vernor, Kenny Vernor, Bob Brown, Bert Richardson, Bill Daton and James Miles. Honorary pallbearers will be Deacons of the First Baptist Church, Jimmy Baxter, Don Hibbits, John Alfred Nelson, Tommy Ward and Dale Woodridge.
