Carlos Ortega, Jr.

Carlos M. Ortega, Jr. of Uvalde passed away on June 4, 2010 in San Antonio at the age of 83. He was born on April 25, 1927 in Beeville, TX to Carlos M. Ortega, Sr. and Maria Moncado. He married Juanita Guerrero on October 8, 1956 in Portales, New Mexico. She preceded him in death on Dec. 25, 1993. He is survived by five daughters, Consuelo Esquivel and husband, Frank of Uvalde Susana Esquivel and husband, Margarito of Knippa Flora Martinez of Merkel, TX Vicenta Moreno and husband, Jesse of Uvalde and Maria Gonzales and husband, Raul of Houston two sons, Carlos Ortega III and wife, Rosa, and Juan G. Ortega and wife, Mary Lou all of Abilene sister, Consuelo Cardona of Piedras Negras, Mexico three brothers, Alfred and Celedonio Ortega, both of San Antonio and Jose Ortega of Piedras Negras, Mexico 16 grandchildren, 10 greatgrandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents wife son, Amador Ortega brother, Leonardo Ortega and sister, Maria De Jesus Servin. A rosary will be held on Saturday and Sunday night at 7:00 PM at the RushingEstesKnowles Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 7, 2010 at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial to follow in Hillcrest Cemetery.
