Carlos Torres Tovar of Sabinal passed away on June 19, 2019 in Sabinal at the age of 74. He was born on April 12, 1945 in Glendale, Arizona to Felipe and Maria Tovar.
Carlos was raised by his aunt and uncle, Teodoro and Ramona Torres on Erwin Soyars Farm and Ranch in Sabinal. He married Florinda Ramirez on December 24, 1967 in Juneau, Wisconsin.
He is survived by his wife of Sabinal; daughters, Sonya Tovar, Maricella Tovar, and Christina Tovar all of Sabinal; brother, Benito Tovar and wife, Kim of Mayville Wisconsin,; grandsons, Rudy Carlos Ysassi, Joshua Ray Ysassi; Jeremy Trey Estrada; granddaughters, Karina Olivia Davis, Jaelynn Alexia Davis, Penny Elizabeth Davis, and Lucy Makayla Davis; 5 great grandsons; 1 great granddaughter; nieces, Kari Raasch and husband, Mike, Tricia Peterson and husband, Brad and Amanda Frey and husband, Danny all of Wisconsin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Felipe Tovar, Jr.; and his aunt and uncle.
A rosary will be held on Saturday and Sunday at 7:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary in Sabinal. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, June 24, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.
Pallbearers will be Rudy Ysassi, Joshua Ysassi, Jeremy Estrada, Frankie Reyes, Benito Tovar, David Rodriguez, Robert Reyes and Tony Garcia.
Honorary pallbearers will be David Bailey, Manuel Flores, Gilbert Biera, Sugar Alejandro and Augie Ybarra.
