Carmen G. DeHoyos of Uvalde passed away on October 11, 2008 in Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 74. She was born on July 16, 1934 in Cotulla, Texas to Dario and Maria Guadalupe Garza. She is survived by five daughters; Juanita DeHoyos of Austin, Texas; Lucia DeHoyos Brooks, Elisa Flores and husband, Marcelo all of Uvalde, Texas; Esperanza Wilder of Columbia, SC; and Victoria Silva of Kingsville, Texas; two sons; Pedro DeHoyos and wife, Charlot of Giddings, Texas; and Noe DeHoyos and wife, Suncha of San Antonio, Texas; nineteen grandchildren; Chris, Michael, Beverley, Mary Ann, Anthony, Aaron, Jessica, Thomas, Anthony, Alana, Eli, LeAnn, Benjamin, Kyle, Roberto, Richard, Maggie, Ryan, and Matthew; great grandchildren; Patty, Nicholas, Dominguic, Trai, Leah, Whitley, Zayne, Twins, Luz, Neveah, Dausha, Vevine, Jaylynn, Madlynn, Victor, Samar, Nethanal, Cesar, Chelsey, and Destany. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Pedro M. DeHoyos. A prayer service will be held on October, 14, 2008 at 7:00 PM at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Chapel. Graveside services will be on Wednesday, October, 15, 2008 at 10:30 AM in Hillcrest Cemetery. Bro. Gamaliel Barboza will be officiating. Pallbearers will be Lucia Brooks, Noe DeHoyos, Richard Silva, Robert Silva, Eli Alvarez, Alfonso Penuelaz, and Manuel Manny Castaneda.
