Carmen Garcia Reyes of Uvalde passed away on Friday, November 20, 2015 at her residence at the age of 84. Mrs. Reyes was born on January 28, 1931 in Hondo to Martin and Ignacia (Luna) Garcia. She married Alejandro Reyes on July 14, 1948 in Uvalde. Mrs. Reyes is survived by her husband of 67 years, Alejandro Reyes of Uvalde; daughter, Maria Elena Morales of Uvalde; two sisters, Margarita Samora of Uvalde and Maria Fuentes of El Dorado, Texas; two brothers, Edmundo Garcia of Uvalde and Ruben Longoria of Florida; 8 grandchildren, Fernando Morales and wife Patricia of San Antonio, Monica Bates and husband Jay of Kyle, Esmeralda Franco and husband Cesar of Buda, Elsa Morales and companion Martin Hernandez of San Antonio, Raymundo Morales and companion Vanessa Rodriguez of Uvalde, Maria E. Sanchez and husband Marcos of San Antonio and Christina Pena and husband Corey of San Antonio; twenty-two great grandchildren, eighteen great-great-grandchildren; granddaughter-in-law Shirley Morales-Baxter; numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Reyes is preceded in death by her parents, grandson Alejandro Morales, four sisters, Elvira Perez, Elisa Castro, Lucia Gray and Rosa Zamarripa; two brothers, Reginaldo Garcia and Raul Garcia.
A rosary will be held on Sunday, November 22, 2015 and Monday, November 23, 2015 at 7:00 pm at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church with burial to follow in Hillcrest Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Alejandro Morales Jr., Mark Anthony Morales, Fernando Morales Jr., Jonathan Scott Morales, Carlos Aaron Gomez, Josue "Joey" Gomez, Antonio Gomez and Raymundo Morales Jr.
