Carmen Sanchez

Carmen T. Sanchez of Uvalde passed away on September 9, 2008 in Main Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 77. She was born on May 25, 1931 in Uvalde, Texas to Telesforo and Praxedis Torres. She married Henry A. Sanchez Sr. in Uvalde, Texas on January 27, 1952. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Henry A. Sanchez Sr. of Uvalde, Texas; one daughter; Lolly Sanchez of Floresville, Texas; two sons; Henry Sanchez Jr. and wife, Josie of Pleasanton, Texas; and Frank Sanchez and wife, Pat of Kennedy, Texas; two sisters; Anita Smith of Brackettville, Texas and Polly Rodriguez of San Antonio, Texas; one brother; Celso Torres of San Antonio, Texas; fourteen grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one son; Jorge Sanchez; parents; three sisters; Margarita Moron, Zenora Reyes and Carolina Torres; three brothers; Telesforo Torres Jr., Leocadio Torres and Valeriano Torres. A rosary will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2008 at 7:00 PM at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 12, 2008 at 1:00 PM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial to follow in Uvalde Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Andres Guevara III, T.Y. Guevara, Henry Sanchez III, Jorge Arturo Sanchez, Francisco Javier Sanchez, and Rick Matthew Sanchez.
