Carmen Trevino Sandoval

Carmen Trevino Sandoval, 93, of Uvalde, Texas, peacefully passed away on February 5, 2025, surrounded by her loving family at her residence.

Born on November 4, 1931, in Uvalde, Texas, she was the daughter of Gregoria (Tobias) and Juan T. Trevino. Carmen’s life was marked by her deep love for her family.

She is survived by her daughters, Norma Roman and her husband George, Jr. of Round Rock, and Alda S. Cano, of Uvalde; her sons, Gilbert Sandoval and his wife Lucy, and Humberto Sandoval, all of Uvalde; as well as her brother, Jose Trevino and his wife, Dolores, of Dallas, Stepbrothers Carlos Trevino of Uvalde and Juan Trevino of Oklahoma. Carmen is cherished by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, 7 great-great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Carmen is preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, Joe H. Sandoval, her son Robert T. Sandoval, and her two brothers, Juan Trevino and Daniel Trevino.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with interment following at Uvalde Catholic Cemetery. 

Serving as pallbearers will be Gilbert Sandoval, David R. Cano, Jr., Michael Sandoval, Jesse J. Cano, David R. Cano III, Jesse J. Cano, Jr., Matthew A. Mata, and Chrissy Sandoval.

Carmen will be remembered for her warmth and devotion to her family. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will endure through all who knew her.
