Carmen Uriegas

Carmen Ybarra Uriegas of Uvalde passed away on October 22, 2020 at Harbor Valley Nursing Home in San Antonio at the age of 82.  She was born on March 29, 1938 in Uvalde, Texas to Arturo and Frances (Gonzales) Ybarra.

She married Rodolfo Z. Uriegas on June 25, 1961 in Uvalde.

She is survived by her husband Rodolfo Z. Uriegas of 59 years of Uvalde; daughter, Connie Varela and husband, Jimmy of San Antonio and son, Rodolfo Uriegas Jr. and wife, Paula of Castroville; sister, Rosalinda Ybarra and husband, Joe, and brother, Arturo Ybarra and wife, Cindy, all of Uvalde, Texas; 3  grandchildren, Christopher Varela, Daniel Varela and Nathaniel Uriegas and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Candelaria De La Paz, Olga Sanchez, Anita Avalos and Refugia "Cuca" Uriegas; brothers, Conrad Ybarra and Guadalupe Ybarra.

Visitation will begin on Monday, October 26, 2020 at 12:00 p.m.  followed by a rosary at 6:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.

A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Interment will follow at Uvalde Catholic Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Christopher Varela, Daniel Varela, Nate Uriegas, Rudy Flores Jr. Julian Talavera and Bobby Sanchez.
