Carolina Mae Cardenas

Carolina Mae Cardenas, 77, of Hondo, formerly of Uvalde passed away on August 24, 2024, at Methodist Stone Oak Hospital in San Antonio.

 She was born on May 5, 1947, in Uvalde, Texas to Petra (Reyes) and Phillip Almanza.

 Visitation will begin on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Thursday, August 29, 2024, from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. on both days.

 A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, August 30, 2024, at 2 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

 Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.

 She is survived by her three daughters, Sandra Cardenas of San Antonio, Nancy Cardenas and husband, Marco Cahue of Hondo, and Stacie Cardenas of San Antonio; son, Richard “Jasmine” Cardenas of San Antonio; two sisters, Irene Richards and Ida Sierra both of Uvalde; grandchildren, Milina Cardenas, Randy Cardenas, Jaime Cardenas, Melissa Cahue, Ivory Martin, Elijah Ricardo Cardenas, Sadie Nokes, Lilliana Cahue, Julie Cahue, Michael Cahue, Matthew Cahue, Kathy Salazar, Audrey Salazar, Brian Salazar, Jeremy Salazar, Kevin Salazar, many more  grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; niece and nephew, Ariel Sierra and Chance Garcia.

 She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ricardo Cardenas, daughter, Becky Salazar; and grandparents, Santos and Juanita Reyes.

 Pallbearers will be Randy Cardenas, Santos Cardenas, Marco Cahue, Anthony Maroquin, Jeremy Salazar, and Jaime Requejo
