Catalina Mata

Catalina G. Mata of Uvalde passed away on February 6, 2011 in Amistad Nursing Home at the age of 88. She was born on February 13, 1922 in Big Wells, Texas to Manuel and Josefina Sandoval Gonzales. She married Ramon Mata in Uvalde on October 23, 1938. She is survived by three daughters Terry Santos and husband, Alfredo Rosa Vasquez and Lucy Castillo all of Dallas, Texas three sons Ramon Mata and wife, Judy of Blaine, Minnesota David Mata and wife, Rita of Uvalde, Texas and John Mata of St. Paul, Minnesota twentythree grandchildren thirtyfour great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents husband Ramon Mata two sons Manuel Ruben Mata and Gilbert Mata and two brothers. A rosary will be held on Wednesday and Thursday at 7:00 PM at RushingEstesKnowles Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Friday February 11, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial to follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Anthony Mata, Adrian Mata, Gilbert Santos, Alfredo Santos Jr., Marcos Salazar, and Danny Salazar. Honorary pallbearers will be Bryan Thompson and Christopher Mata.
