Catherine Cervantez Molina

Catherine Cervantez Molina was a beloved grandmother, mother, and wife during her incredible 99 and a half years of life. She passed away peacefully in the early hours of Saturday morning, October 26th, 2024.

We will remember Catherine for her loving nature, her playfulness, and her occasional, endearing stubbornness. She took care of us when we needed someone the most, and we took care of her till her last day with love and compassion. She will always be remembered for her stern love and dry humor.

Catherine had a long and full life. She was born on March 29, 1925, in Cline, Texas, to two loving parents, Jesus and Catalina Cervantez. Her father was a miner, and her mother was a homemaker. She lost her mother when she was just 4 years old.

She married Acencion Molina in 1941. Catherine and Acencion had their first daughter Irma Molina in 1942 and a second daughter Catherine Molina in 1947. She was the backbone of the family leading and guiding throughout the years. Catherine loved to make homecooked meals for her family. She also loved to work in her yard and plant beautiful flowers. For every holiday she would bake cookies and make wonderful treats for her kids and grandkids. Catherine enjoyed creating beautiful arts and crafts out of pottery in her spare time. She also loved to crochet with her granddaughter and make beautiful tea towels.

Catherine is survived by her two daughters Irma Ayala and Catherine Martinez and husbands Nicolas Ayala and Efrain Martinez. And numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Her grandchildren are Nick Molina Ayala and wife (Bianca Ayala), Jennifer Ayala Reyes and husband (Oscar Reyes), Erika Ayala Munoz and husband (Rogelio Munoz), and Stephen Martinez and wife (Amanda Martinez). Great-grandchildren Ryan Lauren Ayala, Nick Jude Ayala, Megan Paige Ayala, Oscar Rene Reyes Jr., Nicolas Ayala Reyes, Nicole Ayala Reyes, Arabella Ayala Munoz, Rogelio Martin Munoz Jr., Tyler Martinez, Makenzie Lahoski, Logan Martinez and Viviana Martinez and Madyson Martinez. Great–great-grandchildren are Trevor Lahoski and Rylee Lahoski.

Visitation was held from 2pm to 9pm on October 30th at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary where a rosary was recited at 7pm.

A funeral service was held at 10am on October 31st at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Interment followed at Hillcrest Cemetery.
