Clyde Cornell Veltmann Jr, CC as he was known, passed away on July 29, 2016 at Hope West Hospice Center in Grand Junction, Colorado.
CC was born September 4, 1926 at Fort Clark Springs in Brackettville, Texas. He was raised on the family ranch on the West prong of the Nueces River north of Brackettville. He married Mary Louise Roane August 1, 1949. They shared 64 years together until her passing in December 2013. Along the way came two sons, Clyde Rusk and Craige Slayden and a daughter, Valerie.
A life fully lived defines CC. When he was not running the road, he enjoyed hunting and watching a good college or professional football game and in his later years he became an avid San Antonio Spurs fan.
After the ranch sold, he and Mary Louise retired to Kerrville for 10 years and were able to travel to several countries and CC even climbed the stairs to the top of the Great Wall in China at age 80. After she passed away in 2013, he remained for 2 years and then moved to Montrose, CO his final home.
Services will be held at the Church of the Ascension in Montell, Texas, on Friday, August 5, 2016 at 10:00 AM where CC was a Lay Reader and devoted church member.
