Cecil Hopper

Cecil Lee Hopper of Uvalde passed away on April 5, 2015 at his residence at the age of 81. He was born on November 20, 1933 in Uvalde to Cecil and Winnie (Routt) Hopper. He married Allene Thompson in Uvalde on January 1, 1959. He is survived by his wife of 56 years Allene T. Hopper of Uvalde; daughter, Jeanne Hopper Moore of Uvalde; son, Jeff Hopper and his wife Tracy of Uvalde; sister, Winnie B. Hopper of Uvalde; brother, Johnny C. Hopper of Leakey; grandchildren, Brittany Nicole Hopper and Jeffrey Hopper of Uvalde; mother-and-law Lurline Thompson of Uvalde; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; father-and-law Guy Thompson. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at 11:00 am at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. Burial will follow at Hillcrest cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bobby Nelson, Bubba Chisum, Joe De La Cruz, James Everett, Lonnie Horton, Terry Crawford, Clifton Wilson and George Tijerina. Honorary pallbearers will be Ralph Kimble, Houston Allen, Ray Dittmar, Tom Whitehead and Jacky Thompson.
