Celia Cavasos

Celia S. Cavasos of Uvalde passed away on June 17, 2020 at the Uvalde Heath Care and Rehabilitation Center at the age of 91.

Mrs. Cavasos was born in Camp Wood, Texas on April 28,1929 to Manuel and Dolores (Carbajal) San Miguel.

Celia married Esquiel Kele Cavasos on May 2, 1946 in Uvalde Texas

She is survived by her daughter, Norma J. Ruiz and husband, Mario of Uvalde; sister, Roberta “Ruby” Serrano of Camp Wood; brothers, Castulo San Miguel and wife, Ruth of Camp Wood and J.B. San Miguel and wife, Betsy of Beeville, Texas; seven grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Cavasos was preceded in death by her husband, Esquiel Kele Cavasos; parents,Manuel and Dolores (Carbajal) San Miguel; sister, Mary Frances Moreno; and brothers, Manuel San Miguel, Jr. and Paul San Miguel.

Visitation for Mrs. Cavasos will be begin on Monday, June 22, 2020 at 3:00 pm at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, June 23,2020 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Uvalde Texas at 10:00 A.M. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Camp Wood, Texas

A rosary and vigil will be recited on Monday June 22, 2020 at 7:00 pm at the Rushing-Estes-Knowles Chapel in Uvalde Texas.

Pallbearers will be her nephews, Martin Ruiz and Richard Ruiz.
